Long Term (20+ sessions)
In psychodynamic therapy, we look at relational and emotional patterns that occurred in your past, are happening in your present, and exist in the therapy room. Ways of being that took a long time to form don’t change overnight. Psychodynamic therapy typically takes place over a longer period of time, but people leave treatment able to break out of decades long patterns, have a whole new understanding of themselves, and an ability to be more present in their lives.
Short Term (10-20 sessions)
Right now, short term therapy is what you’re looking for. You may need to find ways to reduce or cope with your symptoms, or have one very specific issue you want to work on. In short term therapy, we structure sessions to focus on your goal and collaborate to learn skills and creative solutions.
